About

Hi! I’m Olga, the owner of Sleepy Hen Handmade. I’m a mom of two in Elmhurst, Illinois, and I’ve been sewing since childhood—but really found my passion about 5–6 years ago when I started making clothes for my family.
It began with my oldest, who didn’t fit into the “dinosaurs and trucks” options in boys’ clothing—or the too-tight, uncomfortable girls’ styles. That’s when I realized how much joy there is in creating clothes that actually fit and reflect someone’s personality.
As a tall, plus-size person myself, I know how hard it can be to find the right fit. I love sewing for all bodies and all styles—whether that’s bold prints, playful details, or timeless staples.
Quality and sustainability are at the heart of my work. I use high-quality natural fabrics that last through countless washes, hold their shape, and are kind to both the planet and your wardrobe. These are pieces made to be worn, loved, and even passed down.
I hope you love what you see here—and if you have a vision in mind, I’d love to bring it to life!
